Fans should keep in mind, while Diamond Comic Distributors is completely sold out, first printings of THE ANCHOR #2 may still be found at a direct market retailer near you.

Diamond Comic Distributors is making the second printing of THE ANCHOR #2 available for retailers to order immediately and the second printing will be featured soon in an upcoming issue of Previews Plus.

The second print of THE ANCHOR #2 carries a Diamond Code of OCT098129. The Haven Code is ANCHBOO002A.

THE ANCHOR #2 second print features a negative variant art of the Brian Churilla A cover for issue two.

Since its debut critics from numerous outlets have poured in with praise for the smash-hit series THE ANCHOR:
“…tight, vibrant and kinetic…. I have to admit, I’m a bit envious of Matt Gagnon, who is acting as editor on this one. He gets to see where the story is going well before the rest of us… Pick it up, it’s on stands now.” — Examiner

“… a top-notch story and what might be the most bad-ass first four pages of a comic book this year.” — UVU Review

“A powerful… issue from Hester and Churilla that hits as hard as the title character.” — Project Fanboy

“… story is strong and plots forward at a great pace…Issue Grade: A-” — The Pullbox

“…I was pretty impressed - I loved the fight scenes… One to watch… THE ANCHOR could quickly find a home in the hearts of those who hanker for Dr Strange and Hellboy type thrills.” — Comic Book Review

“… filled with vibrant action and thought-provoking metaphysical exploration, this first issue successfully lays the groundwork for what looks to be a very intriguing, fun-filled series.” — SF Site

“Don't you just love when a new comic you've been looking forward to finally come out...and exceeds all your high hopes?" – Project Fanboy

"This is a great read, quick to get through, yet immense in it's imagery. BOOM! Studios has been putting out some quality work, which, for being such a young company, is awesome. I've begun to look forward more to what they're putting out next than what larger companies are doing with their established characters. Keep it coming!"– Comics Bulletin

"If you're looking for something new I highly recommend you check out THE ANCHOR..." – Cammy's Comic Corner

“...quite effective...” – Eye On Comics

THE ANCHOR #2 features the second installment of the epic ongoing THE ANCHOR adventure and is written by Phil Hester, with astounding interior art by Brian Churilla. The first printing shipped with two covers in a 50/50 split and a third cover that was offered as a 1 in 10 incentive.

Comic News: Berserker #4 Brings More Bone Crushing

JEREMY HAUN KEEPS TOP COW’S NEWEST SERIES STAINED IN BLOOD

Top Cow Productions, Inc. proudly announced today the November 2009 release of Berserker #4. Berserker is the first comic book series Top Cow has released in conjunction with DiVide Pictures, the production company founded by Milo Ventimiglia of Television’s Heroes fame and Russ Cundiff.

Written and created by screenwriter Rick Loverd (Boston Public, Friday Night Lights) with art by Jeremy Haun (Battle for the Cowl: Arkham, Chuck), Berserker #4 explores what happens when the Berserkers led by Midgard and Asgaard hunt down and push Farris and Aaron over the edge. As both rival groups compete to recruit these powerful young Berserkers to their respective causes, one wonders if there can truly be a winner. Will there be any hope for a return to humanity for Farris and Aaron after they awake from their frenzied rage?

The graphic cover images for Berserker #4 by series artist Haun and series cover artist Dale Keown intensifies the violence depicted on previous published issue., Previous covers such as Dale Keown’s cover to Berserker #3, where series character Aaron snarls through his opponent’s blood and intestines as he tears him in half have certainly pushed the envelope, but the new images take things even further.

“Top Cow is thrilled to collaborate with DiVide Pictures for the Berserker series,” said Top Cow Publisher, Filip Sablik. “In addition to producing a compelling story, both Jeremy Haun and Dale Keown seem to be engaged in a good natured competition to see who can produce the grittiest cover image.”

Berserker #3 will arrive in stores on November 25th and features covers by Dale Keown and Jeremy Haun.

Berserker #4 is priced at $2.99 as part of Top Cow Productions ongoing promotion to maintain the low cover price of $2.99 in 2009 for all their regular issues.

DVD News: DC Universe Animated Original Movie "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" arrives February 23, 2010 from Warner Home Video

WHEN JUSTICE MEETS ITS MATCH, WORLDS COLLIDE

JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS

STAR-STUDDED VOICE CAST HIGHLIGHTS ALL-NEW DC UNIVERSE ANIMATED ORIGINAL MOVIE FROM WARNER HOME VIDEO ON FEBRUARY 23, 2010

Featuring Mark Harmon, James Woods, William Baldwin, Chris Noth & Gina Torres

2-Disc and BD releases include DC Showcase: The Spectre, the first in a series of shorts to be included on select DC Universe releases

To save our world and all those like it, SUPERMAN, BATMAN and their caped colleagues must go toe-to-toe with their evil mirror images in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, the seventh entry in the successful ongoing series of DC UNIVERSE Animated Original PG-13 Movies coming February 23, 2010 from Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation. The full-length animated film will be distributed by Warner Home Video as a Special Edition 2-disc version on DVD and Blu-Ray™ Hi-Def for $24.98 (SRP) and $29.99 (SRP), respectively, as well as single disc DVD for $19.98 (SRP). The film will also be available On Demand and Download.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths is an original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne McDuffie (Justice League) rooted in DC Comics’ popular canon of “Crisis” stories depicting parallel worlds with uniquely similar heroes and villains. Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday) is executive producer. Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern: First Flight) and Sam Liu (Superman/Batman: Public Enemies) are co-directors.

In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, a “good” LEX LUTHOR arrives from an alternate universe to recruit the JUSTICE LEAGUE to help save his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters with virtually identical super powers to the JUSTICE LEAGUE. What ensues is the ultimate battle of good versus evil in a war that threatens both planets and, through a diabolical plan launched by OWLMAN, puts the balance of all existence in peril.

The movie features an all-star voice cast led by Mark Harmon (NCIS) as SUPERMAN, James Woods (Ghosts of Mississippi) as OWLMAN, Chris Noth (Sex and the City, Law & Order) as LEX LUTHOR, William Baldwin (Dirty Sexy Money) as BATMAN, Gina Torres (Serenity, Firefly) as SUPERWOMAN and Bruce Davison (X-Men) as the President.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths - 2 Disc Special Edition version will have more than two hours of incredible bonus features, including:

• DC Showcase - The Spectre: The first animated short in the all-new DC Showcase series focuses on a detective story with an ethereal twist, featuring the otherworldly character originally introduced by DC Comics in 1940. The short is written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), and the voice cast includes Gary Cole (Entourage) and Alyssa Milano (Charmed).

• Featurette – “The New World”: From Identity Crisis forward, DC Comics raised the stakes with talent writers, editors and artists pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a modern day Super Hero. This documentary covers the riveting and often harrowing tale of New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer’s “Identity Crisis,” and why this story struck the right chord with the comic book audience. The story is a personal one for the creator, as well as the DC Comics executives’ fortunate enough to have been a part of this mature comic book publication. While revealing the strategy and sentiments behind this comic book, the documentary film goes a step further to explore the continuing and recent publications of “Infinite Crisis” and “Final Crisis,” while crafted with the narration of “The Dark Knight” Executive Producer Michael Uslan. The tension is high, the story is personal, and the stakes have been raised!

• Extended Sneak Peek at the next DC UNIVERSE Animated Original PG-13 Movie.

• Digital Copy Download

• Widescreen (1.78:1)

• Two Episodes of Justice League Unlimited hand-picked by animation legend Bruce Timm

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Blu-Ray versions will have more than three hours of bonus materials, including all the great extras from the 2-disc Special Edition and two additional episodes from Justice League Unlimited, both personally selected by fan-favorite Bruce Timm, plus television pilot episodes from the DC live-action shows: Wonder Woman, and Aquaman.

“Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths is an outstanding representation of the DC Universe series of groundbreaking animated films coming from creative forces within DC Comics, Warner Premiere, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Video,” said Matt Bierman, Senior Vice President Production, Warner Premiere. “It is a testament to the team effort between those four divisions that brings forth a feature-length animated original PG-13 film bursting with great storytelling, memorable characters and impressive animation. This is truly a blockbuster animated film.”

“We’re very excited to present an original story from renowned writer Dwayne McDuffie that takes the JUSTICE LEAGUE mythology and spins it on its ear with parallel worlds echoed in so many classic DC ‘Crisis’ tales,” said Gregory Noveck, Senior VP Creative Affairs, DC Comics. “This is a thinking man’s hero movie with a set of villains determined to succeed and one focused on complete intergalactic annihilation – so just as the stakes are that much higher, so is the intensity of the action with these legendary characters.”

“DC UNIVERSE films continue to stretch the creative boundaries of comics-to-film presentations, and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths offers fans another vision of these iconic characters brought forth by outstanding animation talent – led by executive producer Bruce Timm – and an inspired voice cast featuring the stellar talents of Mark Harmon, Chris Noth, William Baldwin, Gina Torres and James Woods,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation & Partner Brand Marketing.

“The co-direction of Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu merges the best of the last three DC UNIVERSE films with a fine balance of intelligence, emotion and more action than even two Earths can handle,” said Sam Register, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Animation.

Comic News: DW and Dabel Brothers Team Up for Brigg's Mercy Thompson: Moon Called

Adaptation of first Mercy novel debuts in February 2010

Dabel Brothers and IDW Publishing are pleased to announce an agreement to co-publish Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson: Moon Called, a four-issue miniseries adaptation of the best selling author’s new novel, in early 2010.

Moon Called is the first Mercy Thompson novel from New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs. The novel introduces Mercedes “Mercy” Thompson, a talented Volkswagen mechanic living in Washington State, who also happens to be a “walker,” a magical being with the power to shift into a coyote at will. Moon Called tells of Mercy and the rest of the paranormal cast in the novels, among them werewolves, vampires, gremlins, and more.

Moon Called is also a direct follow-up to the mega-hit Mercy Thompson comic book series Homecoming, published by Dabel Brothers in 2008-2009. Homecoming, the Mercy Thompson graphic novel that serves as a prequel story to Moon Called, debuted at #1 on The New York Times Bestseller List for Hardcover Graphic Books, and is fourth on Amazon’s bestselling graphic novel list for 2009.

“Moon Called is chock full of great stuff and perfect for the supernatural fanatic who just can't get enough of their creepy beasties in their reading diet!” said IDW’s new senior editor, Bob Schreck.

Mercy Thompson: Moon Called is being written by Derek Ruiz, with art by Clint Hilinski. The first of the four-issue series will be available in February 2010 from IDW, with subsequent issues shipping on a monthly basis thereafter. The graphic novel is scheduled to be published in August 2010 by IDW, and will be distributed by Diamond Books Distributor.

Briggs has written four Mercy Thompson novels to date, the last of which, Bone Crossed, debuted at #3 on the New York Times Fiction Bestseller List, and remained on for weeks after. The next Mercy Thompson novel, Silver Borne, is scheduled for publication in March 2010.

“We’re thrilled to be working with IDW on this project,” says Vice President Les Dabel. “Their track record speaks for itself, and we really feel they’ve been making a lot of smart moves within the industry the last couple years.”

Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson: Moon Called #1 ($3.99, 32 page, full color comic) will be available in stores in February 2010. Diamond order code #DEC09 0886.
